How to use the layouts tab to add columns and rows to your PDF Templates
In the Product Page Settings section, you can choose to style the Layout of your PDF. You will see that there are two options that can provide a lot of flexibility for how your products are displayed.
Layouts, Rows and Columns
The number of rows and columns available depends on the layout you choose. Only Fixed Layouts allow you to choose the number of rows.
Dynamic layouts allow your products to take up the space they need to show off all the information you define. There will be no predefined rows and your products will appear as their content allows.
You can decide to have products appear one directly after the other, or also choose each product to start on a brand new page.
If a product needs more space than the column provided, the content will be pushed to the next column or page.
This layout only allows you to define how many columns are to be shown in each template.
💡 This layout is ideal for PDF templates that will have varying product types or products that need to show a lot of information.
Fixed layouts allow you to choose the specific space required for each product by defining a set of columns and rows. This limits the space available for information.
For example, if you choose two rows and two columns, you will get a template that allows for 4 individual products per page. In the example above, you can see a 6 product layout.
The space confines the information to a specific height and width. Product information will be cut off if it does not fit within the height provided.
💡 This layout is ideal for PDF templates where products have consistent information in quantity and length of attributes.
