Defining Data Format For CSV and XLSX Channels

Configure the format of a CSV or Excel feed.

In the Format tab of a CSV or XLSX feed, you can build a template for how the feed should be formatted. Please refer to the documentation of the feed consumer to get blueprints on how to build your feed template, in most cases an example feed provides enough information to build your feed in PIM.

Basic data formatting

Within a channel feed, you can edit the 'FORMAT' section in the tab (1). Here you can change the 'Output filename' for your feed (2). You can also quickly change the output format between CSV/XLSX (3). You can also choose which products to 'List first', either the Parents or the Variations (4). If you are working to output a CSV file, you can also select to output a different 'CSV Column separator' (5) or 'CSV Text delimiter' (6).

Basic channel formatting

When formatting your data feed for CSV or XLSX you start by adding attributes and products. When doing so, they will be listed in the 'Channel columns' (1). Here you can change the order of your columns by selecting and drag & dropping the attributes by clicking the '6 dots' icon (2). Select to 'Fill Values' for All products, or just Parents or variations (3).

If a value contains decimals, you can select how many you want to include for your feed for the selected attribute (4).To see a preview of your channel feed click the Preview button and all data will get previewed in a new window (5). To get your feed data, press the 'PROCESS NOW' button (6) and press the 'Start processing' button on the new window, and select your link here below the channel name (7).
